I am starting up a Radio Station Online, will eventually be FM, but starting out mainly on the web, so its more interative that way. Anyway I would like to be able to embed SFO into the website. This could bring alot more players in for you guys, and give my members 1 more thing to do on the site. If you any of the dev's would email me with an answer to zaphieon@zrockonline.net would be very greatful.

PS the radio's site is http://www.zrockonline.net/

Well i'm sure TMy wouldn't mind SFO becoming even more popular, unless he attracts the wrong type of attention again.

hmmm.........That is new, lol, SFO on a radio station?
Does that mean SFO gets its own adds? http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

embed sfo is like a no-no, tmyapp keeps everything for himself and it is good that way... but you could trick your website into thinking it is embedded... try and contact NOSOUL$EVER on X-FORCE he did create a simily chat window which could play SFO at the same time... so i would suggest to contact him about that.

as for being on a radio, why not we always want more public, so feel free to talk about it all you want !

Bah... Before doing that, I think he needs TMyApp's "okay"; you can't just "embed" the game into ur website without his consent http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

go tell that to arcadepod http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

ppl have asked for this in the past and it's always been semi ok as long as they don't plan on hosting the files themselves.

That would attract the wrong attention after awhile though. But if it didnt then it would be a great way to get more players and probaly something else too.

That may not be a good thing, Since He is using Capcom characters without capcom's consent (unless im mistaken), They may find out what he's doing and sue him, which means no SFO

Nas, I don't know if you recall this even or not, but a while back " ×-men vs. Street Fighter " got in a tangent with marve|. Thankfully, XMvs.SF was still able to run; thanks to all of the efforts of Tmy, Mods, and the general community. And thus started " SFO ".

Now, while I think this is a pretty good idea; I can't help but wonder if this will attract the wrong crowd.

However, what would a Capcom official be doing on a radio site? ; P

Not sure what kinda wrong crowd you guys are thinking of. our target base is 16-35 yr olds, that listen to all forms of the rock genre. In general the most of our audience will be pretty laid back mature people that just want to listen to music and play some games. Our radio station isnt broad casting as of yet, but will start soon. we host concerts, and smaller local shows around our town. Anyone that registers to our site get entered in drawings to win all sort of stuff(exp: giving away xbox 360 next month), as well we give all members free webspace.

By embed i simply wanted to just point the website to your servers nothing more. i am not asking for any of actuall code/program. my guess its ran in java? and thats simple enough to point to from inside my site to make it appear as part of the site itself.

anyway if one of the actual mods could email me at zaphieon@zrockonline.net or visit my site www.zrockonline.net and let me know if this is at all possible then ill be very greatful.

java? not really...the game runs on shockwave as i said eariler their really isn't a problem unless you try to host the SFO files yourself. try doing what Xforce 2010 and acradepod to which is link to streetfighteronline.com or make the game opening up in a new pop=up type window from your site.

guys... i'm sure they knows... of all the companies that sued people and web sites cause of copyright infrigement... capcom is one of the few company to never have done anything about their copyrights.

you know... there are companies that do like the fact that people use their chars to create another game similar as a tribute to their formal works. so i'm sure that as long as we do not sell the stuff and give capcom their due... they won't even lift a finger against us !

actually neither would marve| in itself... they did back then because the spiderman movie brought a lot of copyright infrigeent and people were starting to sell things without their consent and that marve| disliked... that is the only why they did it in the first place !

Nas

Thanks man, that explains alot, I still did not know what was goin on, And I guess I worried for nothing, Now that I think about it, your probably right.

And something else that probably follows up your th theories is that marve| never did come back to see if TMy did take off the marve| characters, which is good, lol.

And did it really matter if we used these characters, even though capcom were the company that originally made the game?

mastergrim8

h yes the agreement i hope he can continue to add good characters but this is a slow process but essential for the joy of playing

Well we'll just have to wait and see if TMy is willing to take the risk.

mastergrim8
10-05-2005, 12:29 PM
i think he will i mean i would

Nas
10-05-2005, 12:35 PM
lol, that just means your risking a game over 500,000+ people enjoy playing, including yourself, risking it never being able to be played again...

alamgir
10-05-2005, 01:00 PM
But howbig is this risk? I mean surely it couldn't have been too hard for marve| to find SFO and realise that marve| content still exists in this game.

Nas
10-05-2005, 01:27 PM
Yes I understand that, I mean they are dumbass's, who know, I can only guess that maybe Capcom will be angry, not because TMy is using there characters, But there not getting any money out of it, http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
