[ new sfo forum ]

As most of you have noticed, we were NOT successful at recovering and reconstructing the old SFO forum, however, we were able to preserve the user accounts in this new version of iKonboard.

The forum is not perfect however, you will see some "ghost threads" and odd stats here and there, but with some luck, those should simply "fix themselves" over time.

Also, a version of the old forum WILL be put up as an "archive" in the next few weeks (in a "read only" format) so, any posts made prior and including June 2005 should still be accessible there (in short, we only lose threads/posts made between June and August of 2k5)

...more on that later, when I create a thread dedicated to describing the events following Aug 7th release...

One fact I do wish to mention at this point: a number of people assumed that when the old forum would go down, we would bring a brand new forum (look and function wise) to replace it, and as everyone can see, that is NOT the case (the forum looks/acts the same... and to make things worse, it is now missing all of the old posts)...

Reasons? While a "new" and "flashy" forum was an option, I personally felt that the old forum look and member-stats is really what "defined" the community. So, while we were not able to save all of the old threads, I was happy to know that at least all of the accounts and stats were preserved. If this would not have been possible however, I would have created a new forum/look for the community. Was it the right choice? I think so... (at least for now... but once again, more info on this will be posted later on).

And that about covers it. While this event will no doubtably be considered as a "blow" to the SFO community, I am more than confident that it in the long run, this will be seen as a small "bump" in the otherwise triumphant legacy of SFO.

And at this point, I will simply leave you with the new SFO forum slogan:

The forum is dead. Long live the new forum!

I think that keeping the forum the same was a good move. It looks and feels like the old forum but has much more opportunities as the new one. I believe that this new forum will be much better than the last. There aren't a lot of posts and topics and quite a few mods, nwo and admins, which means it will be easier to be more hands on. Unlike the old forum that was so huge it would be hard to keep track so many topics went sour. With proper care and nurturing the new forum will uphold its SFO legacy and welcome a batch of new members. maybe you should try reading a topic in the "new features" section...as i said if you want a new look why don't you try making a skin tone with no buttons and icons and such and then i'll see if i can make it possible...

what browers are you using because the reply screen and quick reply skin do NOT have a white background...take a screencap for so i see it....as for evilakuma making this skin...NO he only did 3 little buttons which were the SFO buttons because after making completely ####uttons and the new color scheme i was to lazy to make 3 more buttons...so 99.9% was done by me....01% was evil http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

black text should be able to be see just fine or at least WAY better then the release a few days ago

EDIT: yeah foxfire is werid.... oh well as i said blame firefox :Biggrin: ...solution? use IE or any browser besides firefox, viewing the page source on firefox i notice that it basicly shows the color code correctly but fails to load it correctly like it should and instead of showing a very light tone of black it instead shows white when it shouldn't. in case you want to know which version i'm testing on it's 1.5 beta 2, no point in testing out 1.0 because chances are it will also show the forum incorrect.

well some ppl say they see a white text box and when you type you see no test unless you highlight and i've only seen that with firefox, other than that every other browser shows it correctly.

PS: We have SO many member accounts that are left unused with 0 Posts. I say you should do something about that.
