Help for installation.

Hi there.

I need to know if the "Web Version" of SFO:

http://www.streetfighteronline.com/

is different to the
"SFO.exe"
or
"SFO_smallwindow.exe"

The web version runs very slow and sluggish probably about 5-10fps.
My default browser is Firefox.
I have successfully installed Shockwave Player and Flash Player.
"When you see the animation playing below the labeled box, then your installation was successful."

I see the animations.

When i try to open either "SFO.exe" or "SFO_smallwindow.exe" then a popup tells me that
"Shockwave error 10:
One or more of Shockwave files are missing. Would you like to go to Macromedia's web site to repair your Shockwave Player?"

But as i have said they are installed fine which is confusing.

Something is missing somewhere, please help, and also please say if the flash/shockwave version is a lot faster and smoother than the web version.

well the downloadable version is just a little faster and its full screen so i dont use it but for the shockwave thingy reinstall shockwave and that might work http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

i removed shockwave and re-installed but the results are still the same.

Is it coz im using firefox as default browser?

I don't think it's cause you're using firefox. Try uninstalling Shockwave 10.0, and reinstalling Shockwave 8.0.

Maybe that'll work.

thanks thats exactly what was the problem

shockwave 10 doesnt work for me, however shockwave v8.5 does.

yes it runs ever so slightly faster.... we need a proper arcade version running about 50-60hz (christ 30hz will do).

this game has a lot of bugs i notice though... pity.

Well, yeah.

But SFO can run with Shockwave 10, it depends on the computer you're using.

If not, then you'll have to downgrade to Shockwave 8 to play the game.

I get this too, what you do is download the shockwave from the site and install it manually. Don't let it install by is self

Just to let you know Firefox runs slower than most default web browsers, my web version was always faster than my downloaded version. Maybe you should try another browser, may I suggest "Opera"
