Help me please!

i just checked at work today and this was the first time in like 3 years i've played the game!!!!
So now i run it and i cant connect or host o anyone! i can log onto the chat servers but i cant play online! says check i.p and stuff.

I am running a broadband connection and am on a wireless router...
Please help me!

There's your problem. If you use a wireless connection, you won't be able to host, not join games.

You need a direct connection to join or host.

you'll be able to join other people's host with a wireless connection, but you won't be abl to host.

If you DO want to host, then yes, you'll need to connect directly.

if your behind a router or any sort you need to put a check on OLD CONNECTION MODE in order for you to play the game but as DPX stated you wont be able to host your own matches.

well you don't really need to directly connect to the internet, I don't anymore. You can connect directly to the internet to host/join games or just go to options and click old connection mode

and just be able to join

You can host using wireless connections..I have multiple times, in multiple locations.

there has to be a setting to do with the wireless router...

k this may help at work did you check you options meu and try to do all that before you played because this happened to me when i was a work to thats the thing with the computer that you use a work because they have the game blocker and that what makes evry thing so complacated i hoped this help you in anyway my good freind.... http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

your mostly likely either typing your password with caps on/off,or if your using the downloaded version your missing "MSVBVM60.DLL" file which can be found on the link provided below.

that is NOT right...ppl only need to put a check on "old connection mode" not firewall/proxy...that prevents them from joining certain servers.
