Member recognition

i was thinking..juss like how we have "employee of tha month" at work, why not have member of tha month for the sfo forum?

- members shud be helpful (but not too helpful)
- be smart and understanding
-not repeat wut tha other person already posted
-they should accually make sence
- they should be mature and on top of things

the MEMBER OF THE MONTH wud get a honour roll, what that means is that the member of tha month will get for example:

- their user name will be in GOLD of tha next month until theres a new M.O.M.
-and they could have a personal recognition, just like wut EvilAkuma has..EA's recognition is " SFO ADMINISTRATION>EA.
(he has that writen under his username)

and if tha administration has any better ideas, then feel free to share, but first, i wud like to hear from the administration if this idea is good.

i hope everyone in the SFO forum noes, im trying to make tha SFO community better,(and not asking for a real BIG change)

i share my ideas because i am greatful tha sfo is still up and running..tha administration is doing a great job keeping this forum "clean."

i started playing this game in 2002 and guess wut, im still here..

ok ok enough of my "history"

NOW i wud like to hear from tha sfo members.

NOTE: if this feature was to be official, i wud wish for it to be avaliable to ALL members..not juss vips..( we have enough)

I remember a person having member of the month thing like this. He made a banner for the person that was member of the month. I believe its a very cool feature to have.. and it's not that hard to maintain once somebody commit to doing it.

Yeh i think it's good,it's not too hard to maintain and it would encourage better behaviour on the boards.

Only prob i can see,like you said already,is bassically anyone being TOO goody goody then it's just gonna get highly annoying with everyone correcting each other and all that,as long as it doesn't get too ricdiculous with everyone acting as the moderators telling people what stuff they've wrong then i think it's all good.

To be honest, I don't think it's a good idea. Next thing you know, everyone is going to try to be helpful just to get this recognition instead of doing it just to help a member.

you are right..but u see..its another way to keep this forum clean (from spammers and ppl who like to curse alot and excetra...)
and it also keeps tha members devoted to tha game..and there will be more "positive energy" then negative..u noe wut i mean?

u see, its kinda like this: members say positive things about sfo and help it be clean. members tell friends, friends join..they like tha vibe that sfo gives out..they tell THEIR friends and on and on and on.....

seriously..this game deserves major props. its held up thru tha bad and tha UGLY (vets u noe wut i mean, the shut down of ×men vs sf). even tho it had its bad times..it also had its good. like successful updates and wut not... This might sound like im suckin up, but the truth is, this is tha best FREE only game out there..and u all noe that.. it has a forum, vips, unique updates and more...and most of all its FREE..

well anyways soo ya..i wud like to hear from a admin now..if they like this idea or not..if more than 3 admins or mods dont like this idea..then..i guess feel free to close this topic..even tho members have a say to it..tha real dicision comes from tha administrating team.

Eh ... people will still "spam" if this idea ever goes through, you'll have maybe two people helping a person and the rest just saying: " Well follow what said and your problem should fixed."

It's annoying already some people "trying" to help out but in reality their just posting what the person aboved them has posted.

actually i think its a bad idea, for i think its not going to be as easy as you make it seems...
first you will need someone to actually take a lead into giving th eprizes away and that job is ADMINS only, thus we mods cannot do that. thus its up to NOSOUL4EVR (barely ever there) TMYAPP(has quite a lot more things to do then that) NFERNO666 (Sure he wouldn't mind but again has better things to do then being here on the forum) or BLANKA09 (who basically is the same as nferno666) not to mention LEFTYFB(Which basically said to tmaypp that just hosting the forum is nice enough and that he was done with sfo quite a few years back thus unless it touches his host on the forum hes just gone forever)

now i think that would make it hard for us to actually tell. but again not impossible to accomplish since a mod could do it and ask an admin for th echanges to be made. but then that is as hard to do as asking them personnally ! now onto the idea itself... well how can the members react to them being EMPLOYEE of th emonth. first of all there will be even more spam. just like there was when VIP came in just like there was even more when S VIPS came in and more again when ELITE VIP came in th epicture. so how will people react to this, well first of all we'll have quite a lot of people asking what it is and what can be done to have it. now people will try everything they know including trying to convionce us that they are the best member there is. which will be ust as annoying as asking to be sponsored !

now can this be avoided, really... no !

ok 3rd option is too drastic to be taken into account.
now let me just give you a glimpse of things to come if we ever do this idea of yours...
back then when there was like 100 times less people in this place. we used to give older members a special title that they would give themselves up. i remember being the COMPUTER GEEK. many of us had the right to have that but then new people came in asked for how to get that title and started bugging all of us to get the title without having been there for like 1 year ! now that was so annoying thast the idea was just ditched and i was back to the normal member title we have today.

same has gone with stars. when opeople learned that stars where there to show how much you posted people started to spam all the till they had much more star because they didn't want to be ####s all the times because they thought people were bragging on them because they were ####s. now that led to RI having its posts counts not counts anymore. what has that led, people starting to spam in other sections for em to get their stars up. and even today we still ahve that problem going on and there is just nothing we can do about it.

same thing can be hapenning because of this idea. now are you ready to take such a risk of having people spam, flood, and be as annoying as flies on fresh poop ?

the idea could be working thought, but you guys would need to create it yourself ! we just don't have time for it !
so just like the camera club or the clans, you can create your own league of emplyee of the month creates banner between yourselves and just create the whole thing all at once and keep up with it yourself. if anything goes right and we get time we can help you here and there but that's about all we'll be able to do ! after all we all have our own projects to take care of. you want employee's of the month wy not do the contest yourself ?

I disagree with the idea, just the idea of a member gaining some sort of recognition for being a supportive knowledgable member would start so much competion, and spam, theyll flame eachother to see whos opinion is better, each thinking that theyll be recognized for out performing the other member.
Lets just continue the way it is, theyll be recognized by the community for helping out...same as they are now...With Respect.
