how about we get a buddy list that tells us if that buddy is offline or online. people do need to keep track of the people they want to slaughter so how about a buddy list and also tells us what server he or she is in at that time because its hard trying to look for your friend so instead of having to call your buddy we could just have a buddy list

Yea thats a good idea but how about changing it a little bit to be like a search in the chatroom then you type the players name and if there (logged in) or if there (logged off)

Messengers are nothing maybe some people dont have messengers and maybe the ppl block them. Dont assume everyone has a messenger messengers have nothing to do with SFO.

Yeah and you can take people off your buggy list and if someone want's to add you, you have to get thre permission like adding someone on msn messenger.

Exactly but now im starting to think I dont know if this SFO buddy thing is a good idea.

Nah I don't think there's any need for a friends/buddies list. Afterall there are IM programs and any built in feature in SFO would only contribute to screwing up gameplay one way or another.

if youhave online like xbox or ps2 u would or should know what im idea im going towards and maybe we could envite plyers to the games we are in and i do respect you for bein true but a buddy list is to cool unless it takes a massive chuck of the game play out and i doudbt that it would be that serious

Sounds sort of like "Hosting A Game"... And a buddy list wouldn't be sufficient because you can PM people on the forum instead.

Trust me, messenges being sent throughout the chatroom for player to other players will really bring more lag. It might even effect others in their games.

Now, if TMyApp could do something that it wouldn't lag the server or other people games (if it does..) , then it would be a very good idea. But if you have something private to say, just host a game and tell the person to join and then close the server http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

i dunno about this, sure buddy lists are important for large games with several servers and requiring a large amount of cpu focus.

but sfo is the complete opposite, it's not played by much, has few servers, slows the computor very little, and even comes in a small window. obviously msn messenger isn't too far away when playing.

I would say nay given the fact that it's not very hard finding someone if they are on the servers, and also it would require a overhaul in the games engine, given the way that the ingame program works.

Well put it this way...

If an external program like MSN Messenger can contribute to lag then the chances are that having an in game friends tracker will be worse.
