Yea there are some movies I have that I dont really care for. I remember buying AVP in hopes it was better than people said it would be but in the end it was worse than people said it was.I still keep the bad movies in my collection.

I dont find avp enjoyable at all. I got the unrated version which put the curse words back into the film. Live Free or Die Hard had the same thing. What I know for a fact was they filmed it rated R and when the studios didnt want to give them their R rating they simply cut out all the scenes with the curse words ETC.

No, No it wasnt ok. They somehow took Aliens and Predators and made them look rediculous. The Aliens design for the film was awful. Where the hell was Gigers original design??.....hell even Stan Winston in Aliens stuck with Gigers original design. Alien Resurrection started the trend that was make the Aliens look retarded and since then I havent seen a proper inspired looking alien design.

Now the predators.....the predators in the movie looked like if a Hasbro toy had a love child with Danny Devito. I couldnt believe they tore apart Stan Winstons original design. I mean hell in Predator and Predator 2 he looked scary. In AVP he looks like a plastic mess all over.

ORIGNINAL

AVP DESIGN

Now we get to the story.....The story was pretty simple. Aliens vs Predators.....the human characters were just annoying and I mean every single one of them. Bishop was annoying cause he shouldnt even be in this time period as human Bishop was in the future in Alien 3. There is one character that literally goes on and on about his kids its like they're forcing us to give a crap about him because he has kids. I mean he really goes on about his kids to the point you just want him to die because he wont shut the hell up about his kids.

The main character was obviously done to be an ellen ripley type character. It failed completely and she was just another annoying character that you wanted to die in the film but she didnt. Then we gun the random goons with the guns in the movie who you knew they were going to die because they're random goons with guns. Then you got her love interest and you knew he would die because anything someone finishes an explanation as to how everything works in this maze of a pyramid they generally die after explaning such things.

Then we got teh aliens and predators......the aliens ended up being way more powerful than the predators. The predators didnt even do any of that combat stuff they did in the first two predator films. Instead they just literally let the aliens beat the hell out of them. One gets stabed through the back and literally lets the alien tongue mouth it to death. The predators seemed to be extremely stupid in this film.

Somehow the predator even with his gun now attached still couldnt beat the aliens with it....I mean like wth seriously.

Dont even get me started on AVP 2 or ill end up stabbing my neighbors chickens that keep coming into my yard.

I don't give 2 ****s on how the alien nor predators look throughout the series.

It seems if though you are trying to convince me that AVP was just terrible though in my opinion i said it was ok. I have seen all the movies from AVP series and my conclusion was that the stories/movies were Ok. If i said it was good/great then I would get why u tried to explain but i said it was ok and plus i actually seen the movies(might not be very vivid but I seen them)..Lol. It is gonna stay OK in my opinion. Nothing you say will change that. They made sequels for a reason.

Actually they made a sequel cause the Alien/Predator franchises are cash cows for whats left of 20th century fox's income. They made a sequel promising it to be better than AVP yet they made it even more brain dead than the first film and just added tons of gore. Like tons of gore was actually going to make the movie/franchise any better.

Unfortunately they're just killing two franchises that arnt fending well for themselves as it is. After Alien 3 and Resurrection you would think they would learn how to make better sequels. As for predator I havent actually hated any of the sequels though with Predators there were lots of things I hated in it but it was still better than anything else 20th century fox dishes out these days.

Also no one go list movies that were done by other production companys and only released under 20th century fox cause fox didnt have a hand in those films like Avatar, Taken, Taken 2, and the star wars prequels. Though the star wars prequels wernt any good.

I only point out the looks of them because thats what made them so menacing. It wasnt just the fact they can ninja kill you and get away with it. It was the look of the creatures in both films that raised the bar for other creature films. When avp came out they looked like terrible plastic obamanations of what they use to be. When you can tell right away the creature is totally fake then its not doing a good job selling itself as a creature movie. The originals made them look horrifying and unfortunately AVP did nothing of the sort with their designs.

The story in both avp films are horrid beyond belief. The sad thing is that they try to make you care about certain characters but when you dont even give a crap about the main character the movie fails.

When your movie cant tell time it fails as a movie. For example human Bishop being alive in 2004 yet being alive in the far distant future talking to Ripley in Alien 3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D did the same exact thing. It has a character shown in the 1970's as a baby yet she is in her 20's in 2012. When this happens the movie fails right away.

Also no im not trying to convince you to hate the movie. Im just stating how I feel about the AVP movies in general. You can like the movie but I will continue to say I hated it because its a very rage enducing movie for me. Its like when someone gave me dukes of hazard on dvd and they wouldnt take it back. That was the worst thing that happened to my movie collection.

Lol. Was Taken 2 better than one to you? At first I did not think it would be better if they made a sequel but it was better than the original. Beating my expectations. Now...I think I may go watch it again at some point.

Btw. How do you feel about Django Unchained?

I havent seen Django Unchained yet. There are a lot of movies I havent seen being in the hospital for so long. I still have lots to catch up on from last year.

Also I though both Taken films were equal. They are kinda going to end up like the Death Wish movies with Charles Bronson. Someone always gets killed to bring Charles Bronsons character out. I think Taken it will be just always a family member gets kidnapped. lol

This is very true but there are exceptions. Any sequel by James Cameron is always better than the first. When Ridley Scott did Alien no one thought James Cameron could top it but he totally did. Not saying it was way better than the first but James Camerons Aliens was juts a bit better for me than the first Alien.

Terminator 2 of course would be listed as the best sequel of all time. Not only was it better than the first film it was amazing as an action movie. The first Terminator of course is good as well im just saying Terminator 2 was better.

Even that is a better story then the AVP movie...

then there are the games, ultimate war between humans, predators and aliens.
The movie tryed to be different while staying true to our own world. but the reality is... it would of been better to see it in a future world and not our timeline. thats all there is to it.

sometimes sequels do are better...
t2 is one of them as was mentionned... back to the future 3 bested the second one with ease, second oen was too much moving, it was hard to follow. Indiana jones trilogy, the first one being good, but not as good as the ones after it. Star wars also was better in its sequels. Lethal Weapon was awesome, but the sequels surely defeated the original.

i could go on and ong about sequels being better.
it is just that by todays standard, people wanna see live "in our world and time" action flicks which involve huge monsters and at that point im saying to all those thinking its great and all... i'm saying "come on you dont go to the movies to see what you see everyday. so why bother trying to do that. go beyond !" and thats exactly what made the old movies that great to begin with.

one of the movies i'd have liked to see would be...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxOHF_kY8TI

now i totally loved the story, skynet being created when they attached robocop brain to it.
it gave a reason why skynet would go ballistic once activated.

Ok that one I cannot let go. There is no way you liked adrian brody over Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weather, Sonny Landham, Bill Duke, Shane Black, Jesse Ventura, and Richard Cahves. The Testosterone level alone in the first film could make a man pregnant!

lolz, of course! not just the actors alone, but the first film pioneered it all the suceeding franchises
without the first one, we wouldnt have the rest, so yeah i like it too

but minus the testosterone, i think Predators (for me) captured the thrill, the hunt and the survival-themed legacy of the movie

Predators had its problems for me. It didnt have all the gadgets I fell in love with in predator 2. Though I do understand with it being a different race of predators. Lawrence Fishburnes character just annoyed me in it.

What annoyed me even more is they're suppose to be hunting them for sport yet you got a guy with a sissy pistol and a sword and a guy with a knife. I mean where is the sport in that. Topher Grace's character was probably the most rediculous character in the predator series. I also didnt like the predators using the dog looking creatures to make them waste their ammo. Again it just didnt seem like it was hunting them for sport it was just winding them down so they can just easily kill them. I wasnt like Predator classic where he would just come in and ninja kill your ass and fight you like a man.

The super black predator was a let down as well.

Honorable fight. Flacon Predator vs Hanzo. Hanzo wins with the final charge slashing Falcon in the chest but clip does not show it. I wanted a video without music that some one else put in it.

Now the predators.....the predators in the movie looked like if a Hasbro toy had a love child with Danny Devito. I couldnt believe they tore apart Stan Winstons original design. I mean hell in Predator and Predator 2 he looked scary. In AVP he looks like a plastic mess all over.

ORIGNINAL

AVP DESIGN

lolz, i was laughing on the second (predator) image that i overlooked on this comment...

anyways, with regards to predator design/costume/prosthetics, the texture, material, the physical aspect overall, i can see why you made such statement

obviously, the flaws on the second image was quite visible mainly because of the camera used to capture the creature (thats why you saw what you saw)

on today's advanced camera technology, the use of highly sophisticated camera (like a DSLR), one can clearly and vividly see the skin texture/tone/color of any subject, the close-up/macro photography

on the other hand, the first image you presented looked quite menacing/fearsome/beastly, true...but you should also consider the image quality and the camera used to capture that image

the image looked kinda grainy, adding that menacing effect

and how can anyone argue with the 80s technology versus the 2000s technology when it comes to animatronics/prosthetics/puppetry?

im sure, if youd take a look of the first predator (not by photography like you presented), but face to face, im sure youd also see its design flaws
