Sorry silly question but how do I upload my own custom avatar? It seems not to present me with and option.

It should be under Settings & Options. Go to User CP>Edit Avatars>Go to the Cusom Avatar. If it doesn't show then it probably mean sysop/admin probably put a restriction on newb account with less than 10 posts.

i had about 50+ posts and still couldnt use a custom avatar

Hello kingselim , see Forum Permissions. When you get to 100 posts that option will be open for you. Or when you get to be a Vip along with the special Vip Forum.
