i just got off this site my older bro showed me for the official God of War game that came out ~March 05'....i thought it was pretty cool....Devil May Cry-ish engine, but very different story, which basically took little to no creativity in writing cuz' it all came from gr33k mythology....mad props to character design art and environment art...although the look for Aries suk'd... :/

ne1 played this game? beat it? find it hard? whatcha think?

p.s. er....Kratos is not the Greek mythological god of war...why take the game from this perspective? and Kratos is a cool character but he reeeeeally depends on the help of the other gods.....

Ahh God of War was one of this year's finest PS2 releases. It's a brilliant game with fluent and exciting gameplay and a great Ancient Greek story line to match.

heh i just borrowed it yesterday.

fun fliping game on the boss fights and such. i dunno about you, but i spent the first level ripping guys in half.

Yeah too bad you don't get any goodies from your oppponents by doing that though. The mini game effects were so classy and I just loved the way Kratos used his agility to beat the Hydra bosses.

whereever its taught, everyone gotta know the important gods of olympus by the 6th grade. a friend of mine had the game but his idiot brother gave it away a week after he got it. didnt even let me borrow it.

play the demo before though, i like smashing the hydra into the ship's hull.

fact: Roman's don't have any gods, they stoled the gods from the greeks !
thus any ROMAN gods are all actual GREEK GODS !

many religions are like that thought they only changes the names and basically say its their gods when its not.
the game might not look creative to you because they took something from something you know from a long time. but what is creativity ? if the game has a pretty darn good engine then clearly it was creative in some ways. but i say whatever you create today would only be a new version of something already seen a long time ago ! like those whole new tires they supposedly invent for cars. basically they are not newer then when the wheel concept was first created. thus its all only remodelled versions of the same concept.

same goes with games, same goes with anything ever created in our life. thus creativity doesn't mean something new, but new concept on old things !

i own god of war, its one of my favorite games on the ps2. The graphics are superb... in fact, almost everything about this game is. the difficulty all depends on the mode and how good you are... and in the game, once you beat ares( not kill ) you become the god of war, and yeah, i agree ares' look did suck

I only played the Hydra demo (which was very very cool) and I liked it. Combat was easy to pick up, combos are easy...all in all Ima get this game when I get the chance

not bad...so mostly agree that it's a cool game...well, thnks ppl, it's definitely on my list for whenever i start a 'cool game' rack, er somethin :/

and yeh, many roman gods are derived from greek gods with simply different names (e.g., aries = mars, aphrodite = venus, zeus = saturn, blah blah blah)....but there r few exceptions

and yeh too, the game IS creative in its presentation of the greek mythology, but, story-wise, except for having Kratos, in suicide, step off of the highest mountain to defy the help of the gods, to then flash back 2 weeks to show his journey on how he came to that point , the rest was already taken care of :/
but that's what makes it so cool, i guess...the characters and game already have a stron history and ppl can relate and understand who is who and what is what
