I don't see the point in buying the most expensive case you can find - it doesnt serve any purpose. I just got the one that I liked - the meat and gravy is inside.

Plus the Coolermaster HAF 922 isn't anything to scoff at

Awesome specs, (but I'm sure I don't understand completely why, I'm a tech-noob), but Raptor, dude, you come off mean when you brag. (Not the first post, just some of the ones afterwards). Just my perception. We can brag and talk about specs without making fun of people right? Let's try to do that. Even if it was never anyone's intention, things look like they're starting to go down that road on both sides.

And since I'm apparently the bypass admin, Leviathan's a dead man.

Intel® Core™ i7 975 Processor Extreme Edition (OC'd to 4 x 4GHz)
Major boost in productivity/gaming applications. That's a no brainer.

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Motherboard (inc SATA 3 Raid & USB 3)
This raises the standard of previous Gigabyte motherboards to date. It upgrades the gaming and productivity levels, based on the intel X58 (double check??) chipset. Based on the hype for this motherboard, it probably has the ability of multi-GPU (Graphics processing unit) support for NVIDIA and ATI while having an upgrade ability for the future Intel processors (32mn processors??) This is off memory, bite me if i'm wrong

2 x 160 GB Intel X25-M MLC SSD Hard Drives (RAID 0)
Storage kids! It's high end for those technology/gaming/media center buffs. The performance is again.. high end.. infact.. i think it's state of the art, and very reliable.. Intel is your friend. go searchy.. None of you need it though o.0

2 x 1TB Hitachi SATA 2 Hard Drives (RAID 0)
straight forward.

Corsair 12 GB [6 x 2GB] DDR3-1866
same as above.

2 x ATI Radeon HD 5870 1GB (XFX Extreme) Video Cards
This is like.. 300 dollars o.0 how much is your desktop?? lol.. Basically.. The cleaning blu-ray experience you will find thus far(1080p) and gaming is damn well near enough to cause weak men to jizz in their pants (unless they already made new ****??)

LG 8x BLU-RAY Re-Writer

Sony 22x DVD Re-Writer

Corsair CMPSU-1000HX Power Supply

CoolerMaster HAF 922 Mid Tower Gaming Case + Blue Cold Cathode

CoolerMaster V8 CPU Cooling System

NZXT Sentry LX Aluminum Fan Control, Clock, and Temperature LCD Display

Harmony SRS Sound Reduction System inc Enhanced Airflow Silent Fans

Everything else is straight forward.. If anyone would like to talk about audio quality, or just how fast the rewritable drives are (22x.. MADNESS O_O) feel free to do that.. I'm too tired.. and my eye is bothering me again

Oh and.. this is just a dumbed down explanation of what those specs mean for those who don't know too much about specs.. feel free to correct me on anything i've said.. cuz i'm too broke to really give a damn about computers right now

Gotta love thevipkillers response - its like it was out of a textbook written by someone who just read a computer magazine for the first time lol. (I know you said you were dumbing though so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt) I'll do my own dumbing down in red

Its THE most expensive and fastest dekstop CPU in the world at the moment. Costs about $1000 just for this alone. It's sick.

You're asking if its a chipset based on the Intel X58 when the product name is GA-X58A lol - It's the sickest motherboard on the market right now. Two of its silly features are SATA3 and USB3. Overclocking rocks hard. PIC-E 4 slots supporting 3 x SLI/XFIRE - costs about $350

SSD drives are the next generation in hard drive. The single component that is currently helping ALL computers around the world smash speed records. With these 2 babies in RAID0 i'm looking to get about 480 MB/s (Compare that to your "super fast" SATAII drive giving you 32 MB/s) - Stupid prices - about $600 for 320GB. Your Windows 7 install will boot up in about 4 seconds.

Just for the extra storage becuase SSD is so expensive - 2TB - but screw getting 1 x 2TB drive as I want speed so picked 2 x 1TB on RAID0. Sure RAID0 isn't very secure data wise - but screw it lol

Not the fastest memory in the world but its up there. 2 sets of triple buffer DDR3 making sure everything stays screaming fast with zero bottlenecks. Costs about $380

This is like.. 300 dollars o.0 how much is your desktop?? lol.. Basically.. The cleaning blu-ray experience you will find thus far(1080p) and gaming is damn well near enough to cause weak men to jizz in their pants (unless they already made new ****??)
Who gives a crap about 1080p on my desktop. 2 of these badboys gives SILLYNESS in gaming. I've never seen anything like it it sh*ts on Crysis at the highest possible resolutions - everything on MAX. $300 you say? Try $950 for the pair lol

Yeah. I didn't want to lose anyone when i wrote up that explanation of mine. I doubt many people understand all the specs you broke down when breaking down my explanation. They would still need to google a whole lot of the stuff.

as for
2 x 160 GB Intel X25-M MLC SSD Hard Drives (RAID 0)
I said 300 as the base cost (without tax). I didn't realize you had two. lol. that's overkill. 1000 you say. and you paid 5000 for this ENTIRE computer??

err.. You MUST'VE known someone or gotten a hook up somewhere. I can't even comprehend spending 2000 for a computer

I would've gone asus for the gpus and saved 100 bucks or so
what are your cpu and gpu temps

actually i just looked at xfx prices on newegg, either the gpus were more expensive when you bought them, or you just bought overpriced hardware

By Asus you mean Nvgidia Geforce cards ?

I did look at the GTX 295 ( i have 2 x GTX 275 BG TECH in my old box) however i'm just not happy with nVidia's Windows 7 support at the moment - the drivers are shockingly bad. There is a reason they are cheaper though. They are old tech and do not support DirectX 11 - thats why the Radeon won for me this time around

My old box was running 2 x SLI GTX 275 (BFG TECH OC) and just 1 of the 5870 cards matched the performance.

i did get my numbers wrong tho: I paid $650 for the pair (and I dont use newegg - that's the last place i'd ever buy hardware from - its not always about the price with me)

Good post tho - i appreciate a tech response

Asus makes ATI cards too. Right now 5870's are about 404-430 on newegg

You're right about the nvidia drivers, they're not that great, but usually Nvidia is more expensive than ATI

I haven't had any problems with newegg, where do you get your parts from?

Oh and you didn't tell me what your temps were =P

So you're saying you spent a few grand (didn't bother totalling but that's what it looked like) on a computer?
I could've used that money to get new Brembo brake pads and Tein Mono Flex coilovers for my Evo X MR.

Oh.. what? We're not in brag mode anymore?

Maan. Solid would appreciate what you said. When i get my own car.. maybe i'll start learning about these little tweaks.

Even though Nvidia is more expensive.. I prefer ATI Radeon myself. My laptop sport ATI at the moment.. but it's the more commercial/crusty ATI.

Mine is HD 3100
so it's core and sharder speed is about 300 mhz and shared memory with an expansion max. of 512 MB. It's meant for Turion x2 as i use AMD (i'm cheap, got this for 600 xD) but it's running on my Athlon x2 dual core QL-60 (which isn't impressive seeing what 800 dollar laptops offer)

sigh.. i need money, i. i. need money, i. i. need, i need, i need, (fifty) i need.. money.. money is good, i need it.

Outdated for sure D:

Brag Super-Mode > I own a Ferrari 355 Spider, a Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster & 2 x Merc SL55's (His & Hers)

After a little thought I actually bought another machine from newegg as i had lots of PM's from members telling me newegg is awesome - so i gave it a go - we shall see how fast they deliver.

This spec is much higher than even the first one ive posted. Ive included the prices to give you an idea of the deal:
